Sevoflurane & Isoflurane Anesthesia
The thought of our pets or ourselves having to undergo anesthesia makes all of us anxious. We all want the safest anesthetic protocol to be used in all cases. Since anesthesia is a necessary part of veterinary care, we at Newport Hills have adopted the philosophy of using anesthetics with minimal side effects, good pain control, and wide safety margins. In our effort to offer the most recent advances in veterinary medicine, we use Sevoflurane in dogs and Isoflurane in cats for induction of anesthesia. These human anesthetics approved for use in pets allow us to avoid using injectable anesthetics which have prolonged effects and narrower safety margins. The use of Sevoflurane and Isoflurane cuts recovery time dramatically, lessening the time necessary for your pet to remain in the hospital for surgical procedures.
